We are thrilled to share some incredible news that marks a significant milestone in our journey as a small but growing charity. Thanks to funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, and awarded by Postcode community Trust, we have recently received a grant of £15,000.
What does this mean for Giddo’s Gift?
This will enable us to extend the contract of our Community Development Officer for a further 12 months. Thanks to this generous funding, we can continue focusing on long-term goals and projects that will further benefit the young people we support, as well as reaching even more young people affected by cancer.
This grant is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our volunteers, supporters, and partners. As a family-run charity that was born from grief over 7 years ago, this grant marks a new chapter for us and is incredibly significant to our growth.
We felt incredibly lucky to receive the initial grant by Wilmington Trust which opened the door for this paid employment opportunity in 2023. This second grant facilitated by The People’s Postcode Lottery signifies to us that we are making a difference in the world and that we will continue to do so.

The Community Development Officer role enhances the services we offer as a charity, and alleviates some of the day-to-day tasks from our wonderful trustees, ambassadors and volunteers, whose support has been vital. Moreover, having a dedicated staff member has allowed us to be more responsive to the needs of the young people and families we support, ensuring that our services are as effective and timely as possible.
Introducing the role has also enhanced our marketing efforts, ensuring that our message reaches those who need it most and that our supporters stay informed and engaged.
