Jordan smiling

About us

Jordan’s story

Giddo’s Gift honours the memory of Jordan Giddins, who had the gift of making people smile.

From Mandy, Jordan’s mum

Our hearts were broken forever

In 2017 our hearts were broken forever when our beautiful 18-year-old son Jordan was taken too soon. 💙

Jordan fought a long, hard battle. He was diagnosed at 11 years old with HLH, a rare blood disease. He went through harsh chemotherapy, high-dose steroids and eventually a bone marrow transplant from his sister.

In 2015, aged 17, he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a childhood bone cancer which had developed because of the harsh treatment he went through before. Again he faced relentless chemotherapy, ten hours of major surgery, and even travelled to America for proton beam radiotherapy. He gained his angel wings on 27 April 2017 and our lives have never been the same since.

He was the strongest, bravest, funniest person, who took everything that was thrown at him with a smile on his face. He suffered so much but was selfless, more worried about everyone else.

We set up Giddo’s Gift to honour his memory, kindness, generosity and smile.

Improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer

Our lives have been shattered and will never be the same without him, so with everyone’s wonderful support we set up this charity to honour Jordan’s name and keep his memory alive.

We provide grants and gifts for teenagers and young adults aged 13 to 24 with cancer in Wales and North West England. We give regular grants to research into these diseases, to advance treatment for future patients, and our trustees arrange fundraising events throughout the year to pay for it all.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
