Team Giddo and supporters on a wooden footbridge on a family walk

In memory of Jordan ‘Giddo’ Giddins, forever 18

Hope, smiles and joy.

We improve the lives of teenagers and young adults living with cancer in the North West and North Wales, and support their families.

About us

Jordan had the gift of making people smile

Jordan, known as Giddo, bravely battled HLH and Ewing sarcoma, and gained his angel wings aged 18 on 27 April 2017.

We will always be proud of how he dealt with everything: he was selfless, always smiling, brave, and never gave up without a fight. An inspiration to all, we miss him more and more each day. He will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

We carry his legacy by bringing hope, smiles and joy to teenagers and young adults going through a cancer diagnosis, and to their families, with gifts, grants, wishes and holidays.

Nine ways we help

Every gift and grant goes through the social and support workers who know the young people best.

    Gifts and wishes

Bespoke gifts, grants and wishes for young people aged 13 to 24, through social and support workers at six hospitals across the North West and North Wales.

    Bereavement support

Bereavement grants, and memory boxes of personalised keepsakes, for families whose child died aged 13 to 24.

    Caravan holidays

Free holidays at Giddo’s Gaff, our caravan in Greenacres, Porthmadog, for young people with cancer and for families mourning a young loved one.

    Giddo’s Goodie Boxes

Boxes of sweet treats, snacks and drinks on oncology wards, so young people and their families can help themselves day and night.

    Emergency bags

Bags of essentials for young people admitted to hospital unexpectedly: a toothbrush, toiletries, notepads and phone chargers.

    Funding research

Every year we give to four charities working towards a less aggressive cure for childhood cancer.

    Raising awareness

Of teenage and childhood cancer, through campaigns such as Go Gold every September.

    Craft packs

On hospital wards, to keep young people busy and entertained during treatment.

    Meal vouchers

For parents staying in hospital with their child, to ease the cost of eating there.
